The thing holding back this sandwich is that the English muffin still dominates. More bread compared to everything else (regardless of what their promo pictures tell your mind). You can distinguish the difference between the egg whites and the non-100% eggs McDonald's otherwise uses. The whites definitely elevate the sandwich over McDonald's regular fair as the whites retain the fresh-cooked egg moisture. In some bites I was anticipating yoke to pour out. The "smooth" white cheddar melts almost enough to combat the dryness from the muffin, though it still screamed for some sort of spread. The Canadian bacon does provide a nice compatible meat flavor. All combined, a pretty decent sandwich when not over powered by the muffin (leave it to the "English" to be dominating and dry, right?).
Unfortunately, this sandwich is not great because there is still too much muffin. We got two with a buy one get one free coupon and the portion sizes were the same. This sandwich is much better than McDonald's other McMuffin's, so for us it is a definite try.
You Might Like If: You like McMuffin sandwiches, you like home made English muffin breakfast sandwiches or you like food that tastes real (or close enough to).
You Might NOT Like If: You do not like dry English muffin sandwiches at all, you like the non-100% McDonald's eggs, or you like fluffy egg whites.
Our Suggestion: Give it a Try!
