Stuffed burgers are a fun concept. I remember the first time the idea was presented to us and we were like "That is an awesome idea" and then we made our own. Awesome idea, though it doesn't always work out. Besides making them ourselves, we have had them at other restaurants, so when we heard about Burger King's Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Burger we were anxious to see how a fast food version would taste and work out.
Like most stuffed burgers, this one takes extra cooking time - I was told eight minutes and that I would need to pull into the parking lot and they would bring it to me. It took longer than 8 minutes; in fact they brought me my order without the burger. About 2 minutes after I got the order, inspected it, and right before I went to ask where it was, the guy brought it out to me. So this is best as an eat at the restaurant order in my opinion.
The Burger King Bacon Cheddar Stuffed Burger is essentially cheddar chunks and bacon bites mixed in the patty and has lettuce, tomatoes, ketchup, mayo, and crisp onion rings. I like the mixing into the patty compared to the traditional pocket filled stuffed burger, as the fillings are more evenly spread out. The first bite was great as I could taste the bacon and cheddar in the patty and it harmonized well. It has that "Flame-broiled" flavor that Burger King is all about. The onion ring was a nice crunch texture, though it could have been better (a larger lettuce serving could help as well). However, after about a 1/4th of the burger, the patty seemed mushy and the flavors were muddling together. I am not sure why it happened, but it ruined it for me. If a buddy/friend/lover/etc order it, have a few bites, but I would not want to eat a whole one again.
Alice's take: The first bite of this burger was good. You could really detect the cheese and bacon in the patty. After the first bite all I could taste were the onion rings and sauce. I didn't like the texture of the meat. I won't be ordering this burger again.
Who might like: Those who will eat any kind of burger.
Who might NOT like: Those who like a uniform patty, those who do not like a mushy texture, and those who do not like onion rings on burgers.
Our Suggestion: Try it if you are dinning in and feel adventurous, otherwise get a whopper instead.
